31st Biennale dell'Umorismo in Tolentino Awards Winners on Theme of Envy
At Teatro Nicola Vaccaj, the winners of the 31st Biennale internazionale dell’Umorismo nell'Arte were revealed in Tolentino, Italy. This year’s competition showcased 72 chosen pieces from a total of 708 submissions by 313 artists, all centered around the theme of envy. The highest honor, Premio Città di Tolentino, was awarded to Brazilian artist Claudio Gomes (Cau Gomes) for his work titled "The Top hat and the eye of envy." Silvia Abbiezzi secured second place with "Livido color della petraia," while Annalisa Mitrano took third for "Risata dirompente." Massimiliano Zorzan received the Premio Luigi Mari for his minimalist caricature of Mario Draghi. Special accolades were given to Giancarlo Muselli and Fabrizio Cotogno. This year marked the 60th anniversary of the Biennale, which was established in 1961.
