Annunciati 30 Eventi Collaterali per la Biennale di Venezia 2024
La 60ª Biennale di Venezia, intitolata 'Stranieri Ovunque – Foreigners Everywhere' e curata da Adriano Pedrosa, si svolgerà dal 20 aprile al 24 novembre 2024 ai Giardini e all'Arsenale. Sono stati selezionati trenta eventi collaterali, organizzati da istituzioni no-profit in tutta Venezia. Il tema, preso in prestito dalla serie di neon del 2004 del collettivo Claire Fontaine e ispirato al collettivo torinese anti-razzista e anti-omofobo, esplora il concetto di estraneità universale. I progetti partecipanti provengono da 27 città in tutto il mondo, tra cui Bangkok, Barcellona, Berlino, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Gangneung-si, Gottinga, Gwangju, Hannover, Hong Kong, Lagos, Londra, Long Beach, Macao, Madrid, Mumbai, New York, Parigi, San Juan, Seul, Solingen, Taipei, Toronto, Venezia, Wakefield, Varsavia, Wonju-Si e Hebron/Palestina. Tra questi spicca 'Anchor in the Landscape' di Artists and Allies of Hebron, un'ONG artistica attivista gestita dall'artista sudafricano Adam Broomberg, che sostiene i diritti umani palestinesi attraverso mezzi poetici non violenti. Altri eventi degni di nota includono 'Berlinde De Bruyckere: City of Refuge III' all'Abbazia di San Giorgio Maggiore, 'Ernest Pignon-Ernest – untitled' della Fondation Louis Vuitton, 'Jim Dine – Dog on the Forge' del Kunsthaus Göttingen e 'Peter Hujar: Portraits in Life and Death' all'Ukrainian Museum di New York. Gli eventi collaterali mirano a moltiplicare prospettive e voci, in linea con la visione di Pedrosa di abbracciare narrazioni trascurate.
