2s.design's Equihero horse inhalation masks blend veterinary tech with natural forms

architecture-design · 2026-08-01

2s.design, an industrial design studio located in Warsaw, has introduced Equihero, a collection of anatomical inhalation masks designed for horses to enhance comfort during respiratory therapies. This initiative is based on 'More-Than-Human Design' principles and combines digital modeling, veterinary research, and prototyping to optimize the nebulization process. The project was inspired by the founders' personal experience with their horse's respiratory issues, highlighting a lack of effective solutions. Equihero addresses the needs of both horses and their caretakers, starting with a digital horse phantom for anatomical analysis and resulting in four design variations. Prototypes underwent testing on live horses, featuring micro-ergonomic modifications. The final product showcases a sleek silhouette and a natural color scheme, focusing on veterinary equipment customized for equine anatomy.
