280 Works by Giancarlo Moscara in Retrospective at Lecce

A major retrospective of Giancarlo Moscara (Lecce, 1940–2019) is on view across the Museo Storico della Città di Lecce (MUST) and the Casa Museo Moscara, featuring around 280 works executed between 1955 and 2019. The curatorial project is by art historian Titti Pece and photographer-graphic designer Marcello Moscara, with exhibition design by Angela Fabrizio. The display is organized into thematic areas and immersive experiences, starting from the 1960s, the artist's formative period, and continuing until his death. The accompanying catalogue, titled "Giancarlo Moscara. Opere 1955/2019" and published by Moscara Associati Edizioni, includes essays by Massimiliano Cesari, Raffaele Gorgoni, Rosalba Branà, Marisa Milella, Isidoro Mortellaro, Federica Tornese, and a testimony by Andrea Carandini, along with critical anthology excerpts from Maurizio Vitta, Flavio Caroli, and Marisa Dalai Emiliani. Moscara is described as an interdisciplinary, polymaterial, and avant-garde artist who combined form, color, and original languages tied to technology and human cultural, social, and intellectual events.
