23 Galleries Open Simultaneously in Milan's 5 Vie District
On November 30, 2017, 23 galleries in Milan's historic 5 Vie district will hold a collective opening night, transforming the area into an art night. The initiative, called Gallerie Aperte, is organized by the 5VIE art+design association, co-founded by Alessia Del Corona and Ernesta Del Cogliano. Participating galleries self-selected and coordinated their exhibition openings. The event features diverse offerings including photography, urban art, contemporary carpets, and aerial sculptures by Bruno Munari. Palazzo Archinto has postponed its finissage of AndarXporte for the occasion. The nomadic gallery The Pool NYC, founded in 2009, will inaugurate its first permanent space on via Santa Maria Fulcorina during Gallerie Aperte. Viola Romoli, gallerist and curator, noted that Milan has become dynamic and international. The association also promotes the 5 Vie People project, a collective album of district inhabitants. This is the first edition of a format the organizers hope to repeat.
