21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art Kanazawa Presents 'Layers of Accumulated Time' Exhibition

From April 29 to September 28, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa is showcasing 'Layers of Accumulated Time—Depicting the world we live in.' This exhibition highlights the work of sixteen artists from around the globe, including Yusuke Asai, Sam Falls, and William Kentridge. It delves into various temporal viewpoints—past, present, and future—through diverse mediums such as drawing, painting, animation, and video installations. Kentridge's contributions include video pieces crafted from hand-drawn visuals, while Asai presents a mural made with colored soils sourced from the Noto Peninsula. The exhibition engages with themes like scientific advancement, social progress, and pressing contemporary issues, including environmental degradation and inequality, encouraging viewers to navigate intricate temporal experiences.
