21st Century Museum Kanazawa's DXP Exhibition Explores AI and Digital Futures
In 2024, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, will mark its 20th anniversary with the exhibition DXP (Digital Transformation Planet): Towards the Next Interface, which will be on display until 17 March 2024. The museum, designed by SANAA architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, received the Golden Lion for architecture at the 2004 Venice Biennale. Co-curated by Director Yuko Hasegawa and five emerging curators, the exhibition delves into the effects of AI and the metaverse on everyday life. Notable works include Merve Akdoğan's GHOST STORIES (2023) and Refik Anadol's Melting Memories Sculptures A, B, C (2023). The museum, which opened in 2004 to enhance the local community, also features installations by Olafur Eliasson and James Turrell.
