21 Salvador Dalí works seized from newly opened Parma exhibition over forgery suspicions
Just days after the opening of the exhibition 'Dalí: tra arte e mito' at Palazzo Tarasconi in Parma on September 25, 2025, the Carabinieri Cultural Heritage Protection Unit (Nucleo TPC) of Rome seized 21 works attributed to Salvador Dalí, suspected to be forgeries. The seizure includes tapestries, drawings, engravings, and objects. The investigation, coordinated by the Rome Public Prosecutor's Office under deputy prosecutor Giovanni Conzo, was triggered by a report from the Fundació Gala-Salvador Dalí, the entity managing the artist's intellectual property. Anomalies were first noticed when the same exhibition was previously held at the Museo Storico della Fanteria in Rome. The organizing company, Navigare srl, based in Palermo, stated it is fully cooperating with authorities and providing requested documentation. Navigare srl has produced numerous exhibitions across Italy, including current shows on Gauguin at the Museo Storico della Fanteria in Rome and Caravaggio in Sciacca, and upcoming exhibitions on Picasso in Rome, Dalí, Picasso, and Miró at the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, and Miró in Naples.
