2026's Top Minivans for Families: Kia Carnival Leads, Toyota Sienna Offers Hybrid AWD

U.S. News & World Report has released its ranking of the best minivans for families in 2026, with the Kia Carnival taking the top spot. The Carnival, which starts at $36,990, is praised for its powerful 287-horsepower V6 engine, family-friendly features like tri-zone climate control and seven USB-C ports, and an unsurpassed warranty covering 10 years or 100,000 miles. It offers seating for seven or eight and up to 145.1 cubic feet of cargo space. The Toyota Sienna ranks second, standing out as the only minivan offering both a hybrid powertrain and all-wheel drive, with EPA-estimated fuel economy of 36 mpg. However, its cargo space is limited due to non-removable second-row seats. The Kia Carnival Hybrid takes third place, combining the standard Carnival's features with a more efficient 242-horsepower hybrid engine, achieving 33 mpg combined. The Honda Odyssey, despite its aging design, ranks fourth, noted for its excellent handling and a high U.S. News Rating of 9.3 out of 10, but it lacks a hybrid option and a surround-view camera. The Chrysler Pacifica rounds out the top five, offering front- or all-wheel drive and exclusive Stow 'n Go seats that fold into the floor, but it carries the highest base price in the segment. A refreshed Pacifica is expected for the 2027 model year. The rankings consider safety, reliability, seating, cargo volume, and family-friendly features, with prices ranging from $36,990 to $57,940.
