2025 Photography Festivals Spotlight Global Talent and Digital Innovation
In 2025, numerous photography festivals highlighted both contemporary issues and global talent. The Togo Photo Festival, established by Ako Atikossie and Giulia Brivio, presented 15 up-and-coming photographers from Togo and West Africa, with a catalogue scheduled for release in April 2026 and exhibitions planned in Lugano and Milan. November's 28th edition of Paris Photo featured 220 exhibitors from 33 nations, launching a Digital Sector centered on algorithms and machine vision. Photo London celebrated the city as an inspiration, displaying works by David Bailey, Heather Agyepong, James Barnor, Jamie Hawkesworth, and Joy Gregory. Meanwhile, PHOTOCLIMAT tackled the climate crisis in partnership with 50 charities, and the 13th Ragusa Foto Festival examined perceptions of place through diverse exhibitions and workshops.
