2023 Italian Architecture Prize winners announced with ex-aequo
The 2023 Italian Architecture Prize, jointly promoted by MAXXI and Triennale, concluded with an ex-aequo. During the award ceremony, MAXXI Foundation President Alessandro Giuli stated that the Rome-Milan alliance agreement expires in September 2023, expressing hope and commitment to renew the collaboration. The prize for best building completed in the last three years was awarded ex-aequo to ELASTICOFarm for the INFN S-LAB in Turin (2020) and to the team of Carlo Atzeni, Maurizio Manias, Silvia Mocci, and Franceschino Serra for the Santa Chiara parish complex in Sini, Sardinia. Labics received an honorable mention for the restoration and expansion of Palazzo dei Diamanti in Ferrara. Studio Ossidiana won the under-35 award for the Art Pavilion M. in Almere (2022), receiving €10,000. Aimaro Oreglia d'Isola received a career award for his work including the Olivetti West Residential Unit in Ivrea (1968-71), the New Egyptian Museum in Turin (2007-2015), the restoration of Palazzo Te in Mantua, and the exhibition re-functionalization of MANN in Naples (2019-2022). The jury comprised Stefano Boeri, Nina Bassoli, Lorenza Baroncelli, Pippo Ciorra, Matteo Scagnol, Valentina Merz, Lara Monacelli Bani, Iñaqui Carnicero, and Giancarlo Mazzanti.
