2019 Music Preview: King Crimson, Massimo Volume, Frank Ocean, Massive Attack, Lee Gamble, Robert Henke

King Crimson will celebrate their 50th anniversary in 2019 with a world tour across three continents, including three exclusive Italian shows at Arena di Verona, Stupinigi Sonic Park in Nichelino (Turin), and Arena Santa Giuliana in Perugia. Massimo Volume returns after six years with a new album on February 1, their first as a trio (Egle Sommacal, Emidio Clementi, Vittoria Burattini), released via 42 Records and booked by DNA Concerti, with a tour of prestigious Italian theaters. Frank Ocean has finished the sequel to Blond but delays its release, possibly in 2019. Massive Attack returns to Italy after 10 years with dates on February 6 in Milan (Mediolanum Forum), February 8 in Rome (Palazzo dello Sport), and February 9 in Padua (Kioene Arena). Hyperdub, founded by Kode9 and celebrating 15 years in 2019, announces a new album by Lee Gamble titled Flush Real Pharynx, a three-part work exploring the Semioblitz phenomenon; part one, In a Paraventral Scale, releases February 1. Robert Henke's album Dust, produced at Corte Supernova in Venice, premieres at Palazzo Grassi in 3D Sound on January 26, concluding his residency in the lagoon city.
