2018 Italian Architecture Preview: Renzo Piano, Mario Cucinella, and More

A preview of 2018 projects by leading Italian architecture firms. Renzo Piano Building Workshop will deliver the Citadel University Campus in Amiens, France, including university buildings, restaurants, an auditorium, a library, and a park. Mario Cucinella Architects, curating the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale, has five openings in Italy: a health center in San Felice sul Panaro, a dance school in Reggiolo, a church in Mormanno, Bayker-Iperceramica headquarters in Fiorano Modenese, and a new cover for Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Fabbrica, Peccioli. TAMassociati will inaugurate Banca Popolare Etica in Padua in March, complete the church of Varignano in Viareggio by year-end, and open a new library at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, in September. Carlo Ratti Associati will start construction on the Caserma Lamarmora redevelopment in Turin and the Mutti headquarters in Parma. Stefano Boeri Architetti will advance urban forestry projects in Lausanne, Paris, Utrecht, Nanjing, and Liuzhou, and host the first World Forum on Urban Forests in Mantua starting November 28, 2018. Studio Fuksas will complete the Beverly Center renovation in Los Angeles, open the Lama hotel in Rome, and the Rhike Park theater and exhibition center in Tbilisi, Georgia.
