1999: MAN Nuoro, Da Guarene all'Etna, and Cattelan's Duct-Taped Gallerist
In 2019, the MAN museum in Nuoro celebrated its 20th anniversary with a three-day event (February 8–10) featuring a multimedia exhibition by Inoke studio and a retrospective curated by Daniela Frongia. The museum, which opened in 1999 in a 1920s building, also opened its new space in Piazza Satta. The article also recalls two other 1999 milestones: the launch of the photography survey 'Da Guarene all'Etna' by Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, curated by Filippo Maggia, which later appeared at the Venice Biennale in 2002; and Maurizio Cattelan's 'Untitled' (1999), a photograph of gallerist Massimo De Carlo taped to a wall, featured in the 'Cuore di tenebra' exhibition at OGR Torino curated by Marcella Beccaria.
