1998: Gillo Dorfles' Tuffatore, Munari's Death, and Shepard Fairey's OBEY

In 2018, the 20th anniversary of the exhibition 'Il Tuffatore' curated by Gillo Dorfles and Piero Lista was celebrated at Spazio Paestum. The original 1998 show at the Museo Materiali Minimi di Arte Contemporanea (MMMAC) in Capaccio invited 18 Italian artists to reinterpret the famous Paestum tomb slab, including Enzo Cucchi, Emilio Tadini, Guido Crepax, Pablo Echaurren, Enrico Baj, Altan, Tullio Pericoli, Pomodoro, and Paladino. The 2018 edition added a new work by Dorfles, who died on March 2, 2018, at age 107. Also in 1998, Bruno Munari died in Milan; his exhibition 'Bruno Munari. I colori della luce' at Fondazione Plart in Naples (November 30, 2018–March 20, 2019) featured his light projections. Shepard Fairey rebranded as OBEY Giant, launching 'Andre the Giant Has a Posse' stickers. The exhibition 'Make art not war' at Rosso20sette arte contemporanea in Rome (November 24–December 22, 2018) covered his 20-year career.
