19 Under-40 Filmmakers at Venice Film Festival with I Love GAI

At the Venice Film Festival, the Italian Society of Authors and Publishers (SIAE) is teaming up with Lightbox and GAI (Young Italian Artists) to present I Love GAI – Young Italian Authors. This showcase will feature 17 short films from 19 directors under the age of 40, screened at the Palazzo del Cinema on September 1 and 2. The event will wrap up with a party at the Hotel Excelsior, featuring a DJ set by Tommy Vee. A judging panel, which includes Beatrice Bulgari, Karel Och, and Riccardo Chiattelli, will evaluate the films, chosen from a larger selection by Nicola Giuliano, Andrea Purgatori, and Mara Sartore in 2015. SIAE has also waived membership fees for directors and publishers under 31, along with startups under two years old. Finalists include names like Giovanni Aloi, Valerio Attanasio, and Brando De Sica, among others.
