1800 Tequila Unveils $11,000 Pedro Friedeberg Decanter

1800 Tequila has introduced Mono Laberinto Doble, an extra añejo tequila with a price tag of $11,000, limited to just 50 sets. This exclusive bottle is housed in a nickel decanter crafted by the late Mexican artist Pedro Friedeberg, marking one of his last works before his passing in spring 2025. The tequila itself is aged for over three years in a combination of new American oak barrels and French oak casks that previously held Amarone wine. The design, which reflects Friedeberg's early architectural influences, significantly contributes to its steep price. This launch aligns with the release of 'The Art of Tequila: Spirit of Mexico' by Assouline. Patrick Charpenel, executive director of El Museo del Barrio, commended this collaboration as a fitting homage to Friedeberg's legacy. Originally launched in the late 1960s by the Beckmann family as Cuervo 1800 Tequila, the brand is part of the Jose Cuervo portfolio and continues to celebrate Mexican artistry through its Colección Tequila series.
