18 Street Art Murals Across Turin Promote UN Sustainability Goals

The Musei Reali di Torino have institutionalized street art within the Giardini Reali, where a new open-air gallery displays Martha Cooper's photographs of 18 murals created across the city. The project, TOward2030. What are you doing?, was conceived by the City of Turin and Lavazza to promote the UN's 17 Sustainable Development Goals plus Goal Zero, making Turin the first city to act as ambassador for all 18 goals. Each mural, by artists including Zed1, Ufo5, Gomez, Mr Fijodor de Il Cerchio e le Gocce, and Hula, addresses a specific SDG. An exhibition at the Galleria Sabauda's Spazio Confronti, curated by Roberto Mastroianni and Filippo Masino, runs until January 17, 2020. Concurrently, the winner of the digital art competition TOward TOmorrow was announced: Prickly Sauce (Rob Thomas) from the UK, whose work inspired by SDG 16 will be realized as a mural in Turin in late September, lasting four months. Guided tours depart from Nuvola Lavazza to view all 18 murals.
