167 Art Project Returns to Lecce with New Murals by Dimitris Taxis and Sabotaje Al Montaje

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

The second edition of 167 Art Project has concluded in the 167B district of Lecce, Italy. The two-week street art event transformed building facades into canvases for international artists. Greek artist Dimitris Taxis created 'Viktoria,' a romantic depiction of grape harvesting with warm tones, exploring humanity's relationship with the environment. Spanish artist Sabotaje Al Montaje, known for environmental themes, painted a monumental mural highlighting water pollution: a fisherman's catch replaced by plastic bottle caps. Indonesian artist Farhan Siki, returning for the third time, contributed an abstract work blending alphabets to symbolize linguistic contamination. The project treated the entire neighborhood as a blank canvas.
