16-Meter Papiro del Libro dei Morti Scoperto a Saqqara

A 16-meter-long papyrus containing the Book of the Dead has been unearthed in Saqqara, Egypt, as part of an excavation that began in 2018, which has revealed 250 sarcophagi. This papyrus, dating back to 50 B.C., marks the first complete papyrus text discovered in over a century. The find was made in the 'animal cemetery,' an area of temples previously known as the 'Bubasteion.' Mostafa Waziri announced that the papyrus will undergo restoration at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir before being displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum. Additionally, the excavation yielded 250 sarcophagi, 150 bronze statues from around 500 B.C., and the remains of nearly 600 dogs and cats.
