festival-fair · 2026-04-20

The 15th Gwangju Biennale, named 'Pansori' and overseen by curator Nicolas Bourriaud, is set to continue until December 1, 2024. This exhibition delves into the interconnectedness of humans, machines, animals, spirits, and organic entities. Featured artworks include Emeka Ogboh's Oju 2.0 (2022), Cinthia Marcelle's Não existe mais lugar neste lugar (2019–24), and Peter Buggenhout's deteriorating sculptures. Kandis Williams creates collages that merge pop-culture horror with figures from Black history, while Choi Haneyl presents Crying Uncle's Room (2024), showcasing disembodied elements on circuit board-like frameworks. Additional significant works are Sung Tieu's System's Void (2024) and Bianca Bondi's The Long Dark Swim (2024). The exhibition's sparse labeling promotes personal interpretation, mirroring the complexities of reality. Many pieces are located in the 'Feedback Effect' section.
