150 artist-designed vinyl covers on show at new Turin space Spazio Musa

Spazio Musa, a new multidisciplinary venue in Turin, opens with 'Arte a 33 Giri', an exhibition of 150 vinyl record covers designed by contemporary artists from the 1940s to today. The show features works by Matisse, Mirò, Basquiat, Dubuffet, Beuys, Andy Warhol, Araki, Mapplethorpe, Ghirri, Crepax, Manara, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jeff Koons, among others. Curated by Vincenzo Sanfo and Giorgia Sanfo, the exhibition includes sculptures, paintings, drawings, and graphics alongside the covers. Red Ronnie contributed vinyl from his private collection and co-wrote the catalogue texts with Alessandra Mammì and Sergio Secondiano Sacchi. The venue, conceived in 2020 by real estate entrepreneur Pierluca Lobina, occupies two floors of an 18th-century noble palace in the Quadrilatero Romano district, opposite the Santuario della Consolata. Originally planned as a multipurpose space for events related to visual arts, cinema, design, fashion, high craftsmanship, and food, the pandemic delayed its opening. A cocktail bar and restaurant are set to open next month. The exhibition runs until September 11.
