14 Artists Reimagine Wallpaper for Liszt's Studio at Villa d'Este

Villa d'Este in Tivoli, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its Renaissance gardens and fountains, is hosting a contemporary art exhibition that reimagines wallpaper. Titled "Le stanze di Ferenc" (The Rooms of Ferenc), the show runs from December 17, 2018, to February 17, 2019, and features 14 artists who created designs specifically for wallpaper. The exhibition is installed in the apartment once occupied by composer Franz Liszt (1811–1886), where his original 19th-century floral wallpaper is preserved. Participating artists include Serena Bellini, Thomas Braida, Marcella Brancaforte, Linda Carrara, Roberta Di Laudo, Maria Grazia Galesi and Sasha Vinci (working as a duo), Eva Germani, Mariangela Levita, Daniele Marzorati, Silvia Moro, Simone Pellegrini, Giusy Pirrotta, Matteo Stucchi, and Sulltane Tusha. The project emerged from an international call issued in April 2018. Andrea Bruciati, director of the Istituto Autonomo Villa Adriana e Villa d'Este – Villae, stated that the initiative aims to promote contemporary artistic research by dialoguing with tradition and innovating from within. The exhibition is presented by Artribune, an Italian art magazine.
