13th Shanghai Biennale launches as eight-month 'in crescendo' project with three-phase programme

The Power Station of Art has initiated the 13th Shanghai Biennale, named 'Bodies of Water', which will unfold over eight months in three distinct phases. Leading the project is chief curator Andrés Jaque, supported by a team that includes You Mi, Marina Otero Verzier, Lucia Pietroiusti, and Filipa Ramos. The first phase, 'A Wet-Run Rehearsal', takes place from 10 to 14 November 2020, featuring lectures, discussions, and workshops in partnership with organizations such as Fudan University and DOCU TV. Notable participants include artists Itziar Ocariz and Himali Singh Soin, along with the Karrabing Film Collective. The second phase, 'An Ecosystem of Alliances', is scheduled from 15 November 2020 to 9 April 2021, followed by the final phase, 'An Exhibition', from 10 April to 27 June 2021, throughout Shanghai. The biennale focuses on collaboration and the fusion of art with diverse disciplines.
