During the COVID-19 quarantine, Artribune selected 12 non-violent video games focused on exploration, open spaces, and social interaction. The list includes '0°N 0°W' by Colorfiction, which offers 100 small alternative worlds; 'A Short Hike' by Adam Robinson-Yu and Mark Sparling, winner of the Independent Game Festival; 'Eastshade' by Eastshade Studios, where players paint in an anthropomorphic animal world; 'The Endless Forest' by Tale of Tales, originally commissioned by the Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean in Luxembourg in 2003; 'Firewatch' by Campo Santo and Panic, set in a Wyoming forest; 'Lieve Oma' by Florian Veltman, a tribute to grandmothers; 'Meadow' by Might & Delight, a non-violent online multiplayer game; 'Mutazione' by Die Gute Fabrik and Akupara Games, about a girl caring for her grandfather on a mutant island; 'Proteus' by Ed Key and David Kanaga, a pioneering walking simulator; 'Walden, a game' by Tracy Fullerton and USC Game Innovation Lab, based on Thoreau's book; 'A Sense of Pieces' by Connor Sherlock, part of his Walking Simulator A Month Club; and 'Wide Ocean Big Jacket' by Turnfollow and Tender Claws, a short camping story.
