101 designers create lamps for children with neurological conditions

other · 2026-04-26

On February 27, 2025, in Milan, the lighTOGether initiative was launched by Fondazione TOG, coordinated by Studio Matteo Ragni. This project features 101 designers, each crafting a distinctive lamp to aid children suffering from severe neurological disorders, coinciding with World Rare Disease Day. Notable designers included Alberto Meda, Marco Acerbis, Enrico Cesana, and others. The lamps were created at TOG's FabLab using 3D printing, where a collaboration of professionals, students, families, and designers develops custom assistive devices. Eumakers provided filaments, Creative Cables contributed wooden supports, and Controversa handled packaging, with visuals by Francesco Poroli. The lamps promote the 'right to repair' philosophy and proceeds support free rehabilitation for over 100 children each year. Antonia Madella Noja remarked, "Beauty is analgesic," while Matteo Ragni called the year-long effort "an epic operation."
