100th Young Artists Collective at Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation

exhibition · 2026-05-05

The Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice concluded a turbulent 2016 with its 100th Young Artists Collective, held at the Galleria di Piazza San Marco. The exhibition reaffirmed the institution's commitment to emerging talent, featuring 22 selected artists. Among them, four prize winners stood out: Francesco Pozzato presented a granite stele where memory is encoded in binary; Daniele Costa showed a video exploring the interplay of presence and absence; Fabio Ranzolin created a poetic homage to Félix González-Torres; and Silvia Cappellari forged a dialogue between historical masterpieces and contemporary spaces. Gianmarco Cugusi's performance residue, attempting to erase his shadow from the wall, was conceptually striking. The graphic prize went to Valerio Veneruso.
