100 Italian masterpieces on show at Tirana's National Gallery
Over 100 works from Rome's Galleria Comunale d'Arte Moderna have been installed at the National Gallery of Art in Tirana for the exhibition 'Novecento. Capolavori dell'arte italiana', running until April 2, 2017. Curated by Arianna Angelelli, Maria Catalano, and Federica Pirani, the show surveys Italian artistic culture in the first half of the 20th century through paintings, sculptures, watercolours, and drawings. Featured artists include Balla, Carrà, de Chirico, de Pisis, Capogrossi, and Guttuso. Director Artan Shabani expressed satisfaction at hosting the event and hopes it marks the start of fruitful collaboration between the two countries' art institutions. The exhibition was previewed on January 15.
