10-Foot Bronze Statue of Liberty Proof to Debut at Hamptons Fair

festival-fair · 2026-05-20

A 10-foot bronze edition of Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi's The Statue of Liberty, valued at $1 million, will be displayed at the 20th annual Hamptons Fine Art Fair in July. It is the only available work from a limited edition of 12 artist proofs cast between 2010 and 2021 from Bartholdi's original 1878 plaster, held by the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris. Ten proofs are in prestigious collections; one is a French National Treasure on loan to the French Embassy in D.C. Presented by Modern Fine Art, the proof will anchor the fair's "America 250" celebrations. The fair also features "The British are Coming, Again" showcase of top UK galleries and "Trailblazers of Hamptons Abstraction" exhibit. The VIP preview opens July 9, running through July 12. Last year, the fair drew over 10,000 attendees, 140 galleries, and more than 600 artists from over 15 countries.
