10 Extra-European Pavilions at the Venice Architecture Biennale

The 17th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice features 63 participating nations, with Grenada, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan making their first appearances. Among the standout exhibits is Japan's pavilion, overseen by Kozo Kadowaki, which reconstructs a traditional wooden house at the Giardini. The US pavilion, curated by Paul Andersen and Paul Preissner, showcases an impressive wood framing installation. Celebrating its tenth participation, the UAE presents eco-friendly cement research curated by Wael Al Awar and Kenichi Teramoto at the Arsenale. Uzbekistan's inaugural pavilion, curated by Emanuel Christ and Christoph Gantenbein, reconstructs a mahalla. Additionally, notable contributions come from Singapore, Argentina, Israel, Lebanon, China, and South Korea, the latter being the first led by a female curator.
