10 Corso Como Turns 30: Milan's Iconic Concept Store Celebrates with Design, Fashion, and Art
Milan's pioneering concept store 10 Corso Como marks its 30th anniversary. Founded by Carla Sozzani in 1991 in a former garage in the Garibaldi-Porta Nuova district, the space originally operated as Galleria Carla Sozzani. It later expanded to include a shop, bookstore, café-restaurant, and boutique hotel, blending fashion, art, design, and niche publications. The store introduced brands like Comme des Garçons, Alaïa, Maison Martin Margiela, and Hussein Chalayan to Italy. Its gallery has hosted over 260 photography exhibitions featuring Man Ray, André Kertész, Helmut Newton, David LaChapelle, and Nobuyoshi Araki. Now owned by Tiziana Fausti, with Sozzani as artistic director, the store launched a HOME collection during Salone del Mobile, featuring items by Bruno Munari, Cini&Nils, and collaborations with Cassina, Karakter, Fornasetti, Fritz Hansen, and Axolight. A site-specific installation showcased 20th-century design masters. The exhibition 'Nanda Vigo: incontri ravvicinati. Arte, Architettura, Design' runs until November 1. A book-quaderno was presented on September 9. During Fashion Week, 10 Corso Como featured Tod's Factory, Hender Scheme X Tod's, Paolina Russo, and Federico Cina. Limited-edition collaborations with Sacai, Doublet, A.P.C., Moon Boot, and New Era are available. Fausti expressed hopes for economic growth, tourism recovery, digital integration, and international expansion.
