10 Artists Create Public Art Across Valdichiana, Tuscany's Culture Capital 2025

The Union of Municipalities of Valdichiana Senese has launched a public art project placing ten site-specific works across ten towns in Tuscany, curated by Carolin Angerbauer and Gian Guido Grassi. The initiative is part of Valdichiana 2025 – Capitale Toscana della Cultura, aiming to combat depopulation and engage younger generations. Artists include Hitnes (mural at Cetona's kindergarten), Aris (sculpture in Chianciano Terme), Namsal Siedlecki (sculpture at Chiusi's Porta Lavinia washhouses), Giovanni Oberti (site-specific work in Montepulciano), Andreco (sculpture in Pienza's Piazza San Carlo garden), Giorgio Bartocci (installation on a chimney in Torrita di Siena), Daniele Muñoz (mural in San Casciano dei Bagni), Eron (spray mural at Trequanda school), and Moneyless (geometric mural at Sinalunga's sports hall). The first work, by Moneyless (Teo Pirisi), was unveiled at Sinalunga's palazzetto dello sport. The project involved community participation and schools, with over 100 proposals whittled down to ten interventions. Union president Edo Zacchei stated the goal is to continue adding public art, creating a contemporary art map for the area. The first tranche of works will be revealed in the coming weeks.
