1-54 Marrakech 2025 Highlights Moroccan Art Scene with Intimate Fair Format

The 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair's sixth edition wrapped up on 2 February, highlighting the talents of Moroccan artists. Touria El Glaoui, the founder, infused a personal touch into the event, which took place at La Mamounia hotel and DaDa space, featuring 30 galleries. Emerging artist Bouchra El Menjra exhibited her sculptures at Myriem Himmich Gallery, while Kuwaiti newcomer Hunna Art showcased works by Egyptian Amina Yahia and French-Moroccan Maïssane Alibrahimi. CDA Gallery presented Amine Asselman's zellige tiles. The fifth Prix Mustaqbal, awarded by Fondation TGCC, honored seven artists, including Yassine Sellame and Mehdi Ait El Mallali. Loft Gallery and Nil Gallery displayed works by Nassim Azarzar and Sara Benabdallah, respectively, with tuk-tuks facilitating visitor transport.
