1-54 Londra 2023: 62 Espositori, Rimpatrio Digitale e Collaborazione con Mr Eazi
L'undicesima edizione della Fiera d'Arte Contemporanea Africana 1-54 si è tenuta alla Somerset House di Londra, con 62 espositori, di cui un terzo provenienti dall'Africa e 14 debuttanti. Più di 170 artisti hanno esposto le loro opere in diversi media. Touria El Glaoui, la fondatrice, ha sottolineato l'importanza della fiera e lo spazio aggiuntivo dedicato ai progetti. Tra i punti salienti, 'Illuminate the Light' (2023) di Amine El Gotaibi nel cortile. Le opere tessili includevano sagome cucite di Ibrahim Ballo e una creazione a forma di oblò di Ahmed Hajoubi. Una collaborazione con Mr Eazi ha collegato 13 artisti africani al suo album. Huda Lutfi ha presentato 'Untitled (Healing Devices)', mentre 'Return Rashid!' (2023) di LOOTY incorporava scansioni digitali della Stele di Rosetta. L'evento si è concluso il 15 ottobre 2023.
