1-54 London 2023 Returns with Record 62 Exhibitors and Amine El Gotaibi Installation
The 11th installment of the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair is set to take place at Somerset House from October 12 to 15, 2023, marking its largest edition yet with 62 exhibitors from 31 nations. A third of the participants hail from Africa, including 14 galleries making their debut, such as Affinity Gallery and Efie Gallery. The event will feature over 170 artists, including Joana Choumali and rising stars like Josué Comoe. Moroccan artist Amine El Gotaibi will present his Corten steel installation titled 'Illuminate the Light.' Additionally, Christie's will continue its collaboration by hosting '1-54 Presents' from October 9 to 14. Nigerian artist Mr Eazi is set to unveil 'The Evil Genius.' The fair will also be available online through Artsy from October 12 to 29.
