1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair Debuts in Hong Kong

1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair will launch its inaugural Asian edition, 1-54 Presents, in Hong Kong from 26–30 March 2024. The pop-up exhibition, organized in collaboration with Christie’s, will take place at Christie’s office in Hong Kong’s Central district, coinciding with Art Basel Hong Kong. The 1-54 Presents programme, which began in 2023, features curated pop-up exhibitions. Founding director Touria El Glaoui expressed excitement about the partnership with Christie’s and bringing African art to Asia during Art Basel Hong Kong. Francis Belin, president of Christie’s Asia Pacific, emphasized the firm’s support for platforming African art globally and welcoming audiences across Asia to the event.
