Il secondo volume di Zanele Muholi 'Somnyama Ngonyama' esplora l'identità nera e il sé
L'11 giugno 2024, Zanele Muholi ha pubblicato la seconda edizione di 'Somnyama Ngonyama, Hail the Dark Lioness.' Questo volume cartonato conta 172 pagine e presenta 80 fotografie che approfondiscono i temi dell'identità nera, della resistenza e dei futuri immaginati, con immagini scattate in tutto il mondo dalla pubblicazione del primo volume nel 2018. Curato da Renée Mussai, include anche saggi di più di dieci contributori, tra cui Sophia Al-Maria e Natasha Becker. Nato a Umlazi, Durban, nel 1972, Muholi è un rinomato attivista visivo e fotografo, co-fondatore del Forum for the Empowerment of Women e fondatore di Inkanyiso. I suoi riconoscimenti includono il Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres dalla Francia (2017) e il Kraszna-Krausz Photography Book Award (2019).
