Annunciata la shortlist del Turner Prize 2026: Barclay, Freije, Humeau, Sasraku
In una conferenza stampa trasmessa in streaming dalla Tate Britain di Londra, Alex Farquharson, direttore della Tate Britain, ha rivelato la shortlist per il Turner Prize 2026. I quattro artisti nominati sono Simeon Barclay, Kira Freije, Marguerite Humeau e Tanoa Sasraku. Le loro opere saranno esposte in una mostra al Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (Mima), a partire dal 26 settembre 2026, con il vincitore che sarà annunciato in una cerimonia il 10 dicembre 2026. Il vincitore riceverà £25.000, mentre ogni finalista riceverà £10.000. La giuria, presieduta da Farquharson, include Alona Pardo, Sarah Allen, Joe Hill e Sook-Kyung Lee. La nomination di Barclay deriva dalla sua performance, The Ruin, mentre Freije è riconosciuta per Unspeak the Chorus. La nomination di Humeau è per Torches, e Sasraku è riconosciuto per Morale Patch. Il Turner Prize viene assegnato dal 1984, con vincitori precedenti tra cui Nnena Kalu e Damien Hirst.
