Wanda Svevo Archive Declared of Public and Social Interest by CONARQ
The National Council of Archives (CONARQ) has recognized the Wanda Svevo Historical Archive, overseen by the Bienal de São Paulo Foundation, as being of public and social significance. Founded in 1955 by Wanda Svevo to aid the Bienal de São Paulo at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM-SP), this archive plays a crucial role in safeguarding Brazil's modern and contemporary art heritage. It received prior acknowledgments from Condephaat in 1993 and Conpresp in 2017. The archive contains documentary collections from Francisco Matarazzo Sobrinho, MAM-SP, and the Bienal de São Paulo Foundation, documenting the Bienal's history and the evolution of the art system. It was designated the Wanda Svevo Historical Archives in 1963, following the establishment of the Bienal Foundation.
