The Hotel Metropole in Venice occupies a former orphanage where Antonio Vivaldi taught music from 1703 to 1740. Originally the Ospedale della Pietà, the building was converted into a hotel in the 19th century and renamed Hotel Metropole in 1968. Owner Gloria Beggiato has filled the 5-star property with over 2,000 rare objects, creating a Wunderkammer atmosphere.
