Updated Reference Guide on Australian Mammals Released

The fourth edition of 'Strahan’s Mammals of Australia' has been published, providing current information on over 400 mammal species found in Australia and its waters. Edited by Dr Andrew Baker and Dr Ian Gynther, the comprehensive volume includes contributions from more than 320 authors, including staff from the Australian Museum. The book features updated species accounts, distribution maps, and photographs, reflecting changes since the previous edition in 2008, such as newly discovered species and revised ecological data. It serves as an essential resource for understanding Australia's unique mammal fauna, which includes monotremes, marsupials, and eutherians found nowhere else.
