United Airlines Introduces Economy-Class Sleeping Rows for Long-Haul Flights

United Airlines has announced a new 'Relax Row' concept that transforms three adjacent economy seats into a lie-flat sleeping area for long-distance flights. The service includes adjustable leg rests, a mattress pad, blankets, and pillows, with additional amenities for children. Designed primarily for families but available to all passengers, the rows will be positioned between standard economy and premium economy sections. The airline plans to implement this feature on 90 aircraft starting in 2027, expanding to 200 Boeing 787 and 777 planes by 2030. While pricing details remain unspecified, industry analysts anticipate it will be offered as an upgrade to regular economy tickets. Similar configurations already exist with other international carriers like All Nippon Airways and Air New Zealand.
