Tuscia Route1: cycling and art revive Bolsena's villages

The Tuscia Route1 project combines a new cycling itinerary with cultural regeneration around Lake Bolsena in Lazio, Italy. The route connects medieval villages, archaeological sites, and chestnut forests, promoting slow tourism. In Bolsena, Palazzo Cozza Caposavi opened a contemporary art wing. Civita di Bagnoregio, with only ten residents including Harry Styles and Alessandro Michele, hosts artist residencies and a planned Carsten Höller intervention. Latera launched The Art Farm, a public art project with site-specific works by Elisa Capdevila and Daniele Di Girolamo, funded by PNNR Next Generation. Local women crochet mandalas in the streets. The initiative aims to counter depopulation through art, cycling, and community involvement.
