Train World Museum in Brussels Highlights Europe's First Continental Passenger Rail Journey

The Train World railway museum in Brussels showcases the history of European rail travel, including the first regular passenger train service on the continent. On May 5, 1835, three trains departed from Brussels carrying 900 passengers to Mechelen, a journey lasting about 50 minutes that transformed continental travel.
