Three New Art Venues Open Across Texas: San Antonio, Dallas, Richardson
Three new art venues have opened in central and north Texas: The Junction Creative Collective in San Antonio, Ateliê By The Experience in Dallas, and 7 Moons Media Studios in Richardson. The Junction Creative Collective replaces Clamp Light Studios & Gallery, an artist-run space founded in 2009. Owner Edna Félan purchased the building in 2012 and aims to continue offering affordable studio and exhibition space. Former Clamp Light directors Symone Harvey and Bridgette Ralph will lead the collective. Notable former members include Jennifer Ling Datchuk, Ryan Takaba, Sarah Fox, and Brittany Ham. An open house was held May 24, with open calls for exhibitions SERVING CVNT in June and a Spurs-themed show in July. In Dallas, Daisha Board, founder of Black Sheep Art Culture, partnered in Ateliê By The Experience, a gallery and restaurant in Oak Cliff featuring Michelin-trained chef Wyl Lima. The venue will showcase international artists from Colombia, Ghana, Mexico, South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Texas. In Richardson, Anne Balsamo, a UT Dallas professor, opened 7 Moons Media Studios in 2025. Its inaugural exhibition Remix the Archive, featuring xtine burrough, opened March 27, 2026, and closes August 8 with a Mid-Summer Night's Dream party. The venue supports intersections of old and new media, with an on-site archive of collectible media artifacts.
