Tank Museum and Babcock Partner to Train Future Engineers

A partnership has been established between Babcock International Group and The Tank Museum to cultivate the next generation of engineers. This collaboration provides Vehicle Technician apprentices with practical experience on both contemporary and historical military vehicles. Recently, James Trevett, an Apprentice Vehicle Technician with three years at the museum, led a session for 14 Babcock apprentices focused on historic vehicles. The apprentices also toured the Ministry of Defence site in Bovington, where Babcock offers vehicle support services, to learn about current defence vehicles. Trevett, inspired to pursue engineering after school, has a background in farming and now maintains five Land Rovers in his workshop, showcasing his enthusiasm for repairs and problem-solving. This initiative highlights the importance of museums in workforce training, merging historical insights with modern engineering needs.
