These sugar eggs, while intended for display rather than consumption, can endure for decades and sometimes become family heirlooms. Nemec emphasizes using exclusively edible components in her work, maintaining the confectionery origins of the art form. Each egg requires approximately one hour of handcrafting, a deliberate contrast to automated production methods.
