Student Researcher Develops LGBTQ+ Heritage Walk for Llandudno Museum
Tessa Fox, a Museum Studies graduate student at the University of Manchester, participated in a digital placement at Llandudno Museum and Gallery in early 2021. Her role involved researching Llandudno's LGBTQ+ history to create a heritage walk titled 'Llandudno's Hidden History: LGBTQ+ Heritage Walk 2021.' Fox identified eight to ten local figures and events, writing biographies for each. The guided walks launched on July 16, 2021, starting at Llandudno Museum and Gallery, proceeding to Dylan's Llandudno and MOSTYN Gallery. Additional walks were scheduled for August and September 2021. The project aims to highlight marginalized histories and promote diversity in museum programming.
