Stockholm's Opera House to Close for Renovation in 2026 After Historic Role

Stockholm's Opera House, a landmark hosting venues like Operakällaren, Operaterrassen, Café Opera, Operabaren, Bakfickan, END, and Othilia, will undergo a multi-year renovation starting after 2026. For generations, this building has served as a central meeting place where both international visitors and local Stockholmers have celebrated, dined, dreamed, and fallen in love, creating countless stories that form part of the city's history. A film by Morgan Norman documents this cultural institution before its closure, featuring choreography by Joakim Stephenson and sound design by Eric Beckman. Dancer Elisa Fossati performs in the film, with styling by Alina Bendikova and hair and makeup by Jessica Delatorre. The production involved Morgan Norman as Director and Director of Photography, Eric Beckman as Gaffer/Tech and Sound Designer, and was supported by agency @frimaagency. Costume elements included a top from Zara, skirt from Gina Tricot, blazer from NA-KD, shoes from H&M, a custom-made headscarf, and earrings from Arket.
