Smithsonian Museum Renews Partnership with Japanese Literature Institute

This spring, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art and the National Institute of Japanese Literature, which is part of the National Institutes for the Humanities, have extended their memorandum of understanding. This renewal aligns with the introduction of a new digital tool: an online catalog in Japanese featuring rare texts from the museum’s Pulverer Collection. Previously, the collection was only accessible in English, which restricted Japanese scholars' access. The newly available resource facilitates comparative research for Japanese specialists in the fields of literature and art history.
